At Fairdeal Fabrication we have utilised Lumsden grinding with ‘plough’ grinding machines for over 50 years. The process facilitates a high rate of material removal with large areas of material precision machined without leaving any witness lines. This technique is also a great accompaniment to the flame cutting process.
Our machines can grind any profile in a variety of materials, flat and parallel, to within 0.127mm (5 thousandths of an inch) making it a great alternative to the more expensive milling process.
Although these machines have been developed to work by holding the materials with magnets, at Fairdeal our experienced engineers and operators have been able to develop efficient and accurate techniques for the grinding of non-metallic materials.
We currently operate three Lumsden ‘plough’ grinding machines, 36”, 60”, 72”, which means is if your part(s) fits within a 72” diameter we will be able to grind it. Having three machines on site also allows us to deliver quick turnarounds that help you keep your projects on schedule.
